FCI, Too! Early Learning Academy
Location: 2511 Mock Road
Established: 2001
A 501(c)(3) nonprofit childcare center founded as part of MiraCit’s holistic revitalization strategy.
Licensed by the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC), FCI, Too! is also a Head Start partner with the Child Development Council.
Serving over 110 children, the center is a trusted anchor for working families and employs 20 dedicated staff members.
Early education is the foundation of equity and community transformation.
FCI Plaza (Formerly Arlington Park Shopping Center)
Acquired: 2008
Size: 46,000 sq. ft.
This retail strip mall was partially renovated to provide affordable commercial space for local businesses and community service providers. Funded in part by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services and the Community Development Finance Fund, FCI Plaza is an example of MiraCit’s commitment to neighborhood-based economic development.
FCI Marketplace – Save A Lot Grocery
Opened: 2012
Size: 18,000 sq. ft.
Staffed by: 17 employees
Located within FCI Plaza, this fully renovated grocery store addressed a long-standing food desert in the Mock Road area. Today, it provides quality meats, produce, groceries, and household essentials to families across the neighborhood at accessible prices.
Access to food is access to dignity.
Mock Park Initiative
Completed: 2007
Size: 100 acres
In partnership with Columbus Recreation & Parks, MiraCit led the revitalization of Mock Park—formerly neglected for over two decades. Today, it features:
Walking and nature trails
Basketball and tennis courts
Playground equipment
A 2,000 sq. ft. picnic shelter
This public space now thrives as a gathering ground for community wellness and connection.
Amvets Park Restoration
Completed: 1994
Autumnfest Community Festival
Held annually since: 2006
Hosted by: MiraCit + neighborhood junior football league
This beloved fall tradition brings together families for a day of sports, games, entertainment, food, and fellowship. Each year features a different theme, focusing on topics like health education, youth development, community awareness, and the performing arts.
Autumnfest has become a symbol of neighborhood pride and unity—fueled by support from local businesses and community partners.
