MiraCit Development Corporation, Inc.
MiraCit Development Corporation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, certified community development organization formed in 1993 for the purpose of spearheading revitalization in economically distressed areas within Franklin County. MiraCit’s principal boundaries are 17th Avenue, Joyce Avenue, Agler Road and Sunbury Road; centering around the Mock Road community.
Fourteen years have passed since we began the endeavor to bring about positive change in our community. We have been privileged to have the support of our Mayor, Michael Coleman, our local, county and state government, the community, civic leaders, funders and members of the corporate sector. But most importantly, our accomplishments have been by divine direction and intervention.
We look forward to the future and the promise this new millennium brings. We are ready to move to the next level, to fully realize the vision given to us fourteen years ago.

Hegemon Crest is the first installment of the visions fulfillment, as the new subdivision located on the site of the former Linton Gardens, boasts 34 new single family homes. The newly acquired FCI Resource Center serves as a community center with leasable space for service providers; and the FCI, Too! childcare center, located next to the Resource Center, provides quality education and a caring atmosphere for pre-school age children.
The vision continues with more new housing (at Woodland Ridge and Mariemont Place), the FCI Plaza, which will provide attractive retail, grocery, pharmacy and restaurant space for the neighborhood; and FCI Academy, a technology-based community school, which will provide a viable learning environment for grades K-12.

Green View Estates
Local builders are presenting homes utilizing energy-efficient, high performance building concepts to provide families with reduced utility costs, improved durability, and environmental conservation. Builders in the project include: PDG Domus, Sovereign Homes and MiraCit Homes.
The site also features a 2-acre, regional stormwater retention pond which will serve the North Central community, helping improve stormwater management for the area. With support from the City of Columbus, several incentives are in place to ensure the success of the project, including donation of the land to reduce lot costs to builders, infrastructure improvements, and 15-year tax abatement upon all building improvements. Home prices will average in the mid-100s.
Through its Rehab Homes Project, MiraCit acquired 14 homes through HUD's Property Disposition Program. Once renovated, the homes were available for sale or rent to low and moderate income families.

We have a vision which we have named
Faith Center International. It is our challenge to
be a model city within a city - free of crime, free
of drugs, an area in which people can take pride in
homeownership, have stable employment, own and support
their own businesses, have good educational facilities
and programs, and much-needed neighborhood services.
MiraCit's purpose is to bring a holistic
approach to revitalization for deteriorating neighborhoods
by developing attractive, affordable housing and home
upkeep programs; promoting neighborhood beautification
and safety; revitalizing existing park areas and addressing
public service needs; providing access to educational
opportunities, job training, and childcare services;
and strengthening economic viability through neighborhood
business stimulation.
