Our Story

Over 40 Years Ago

Over 30 years ago - The Mock Road community in northeast Columbus was once a thriving neighborhood—businesses bustling, families planting roots, and a shared vision of a bright future. But like many urban communities, decades of disinvestment brought hardship. Suburban flight, job loss, and aging infrastructure left Mock Road vulnerable to crime, underinvestment, and blight.

Rather than turn away, Living Faith Apostolic Church stepped forward. Rooted in faith and guided by the needs of its neighbors, the church founded Faith Center International (FCI)—and later, MiraCit Development Corporation—to restore what had been lost and to reimagine what was possible.

Through MiraCit’s intervention, the Mock Road corridor was transformed from decline into renewal. Together with public and private partners, we have:

• Developed and rehabilitated more than 300 homes and apartments

• Launched the FCI Academy and FCI, Too Early Learning Academy

• Created over 125 jobs through community-centered enterprise

• Built and revitalized critical neighborhood assets such as FCI Plaza, FCI Marketplace (Save A Lot), and local parks

• Expanded access to essential services through faith-driven, people-first solutions

Today, Mock Road is no longer defined by disinvestment but by revitalization, resilience, and hope. MiraCit’s mission continues: not just to build housing, but to restore pride, strengthen families, and inspire possibility for generations to come.
