MiraCit Development Corporation, Inc. is a not-for-profit, certified community development organization formed in 1993 for the purpose of spearheading revitalization in the Mock Road area of Northeast Columbus, Ohio.  MiraCit has successfully developed strategies for targeting financial resources necessary to bring about positive changes.  Accomplishments range from building new homes, acquiring and rehabbing existing single-family units, K-12 Charter School, childcare for 18 months to 12 years of age, park renovations, and many other successful endeavors.

Activities include:

-          Homebuyer consultations and pre-qualification for over 200 potential homeowners;

-          Purchase and rehab of homes for purchase and rental by low/moderate income families;

-           Rental and management of single-family homes;

-          Development of several upscale, single-family housing subdivisions;

-          Procurement and installation of new playground equipment and shelter for  Amvets Village Park;

-          Successful sponsorship of annual community festivals at neighborhood parks;

-          Acquisition and renovation of 46,000 square foot commercial facility;

-          Development of 45 unit senior facility;

-          Development  of 74-unit tax credit housing for seniors;

-          Sponsorship of the Mock Park Initiative, fundraising, community awareness and volunteerism for the redevelopment of Mock Park.  With support from the community, the Neighborhood Partnership Program and the Columbus Recreation and Parks Department, have installed amenities ranging from a walking trail and extension to playground equipment;

-          Sponsorship of a Youth Business and Technology Program from ages 16-21, providing computer and internet training for youth entrepreneurs.
